Premjyoti which means “Light of Love”, is a non-governmental, non-profit-organization working for the welfare and education of children with and without disabilities. It also focuses on the empowerment of dalit (scheduled cast), tribal children and poor old aged people. It was founded by Mr. Pawan Kumar and Mrs. Sheela in the year 1996 in a small hut with two students with disabiliets and today it is striving to bring light into lives that never need to be dark again. It was a simple idea to bring children with and without disabilities under one umbrella. Our aim was to instill in them acceptance, friendship, understanding and a positive attitude towards children with differences to live in equality and dignity. 

Our students receive inclusive education from lower kindergarten to class 10 (16 years).  We offer free education to the girls in highschool, to children with disabilities, dalit and tribal children who are the poorest in the country.

Premjyoti is supported by donations from supporters, sponsors and occasional donors.
